High speed air bearing spindles for precision lens and mirror grinding

ABTech's air bearing spindles are ideal for precision machinetools, work holding heads, flycutter heads and grinders.

High stiffness and load capacities with very low error motion make an air bearing spindle ideal for precision machining applications requiring ultrasmooth motion, high accuracy and speeds up to 20,000 rpm. Applications include single point diamond turning and glass optic grinding.

The spindles feature high torque DC brushless motors and rotary encoders. The motors are internally air cooled using the air bearings own exhaust air. Liquid cooling options are readily adapted to the existing ported housing.
