Air Bearing Tables

ABTech’s AT series of manual spin and direct-drive air bearing rotary tables, with dual thrust plate bearing designs and diameters from 4 to 16 inches (100mm to 400mm) provide micro-inch (sub-micron) accuracy at lower speeds (0 RPM to 2000 RPM), with nearly absolute repeatability. The HDRT series of heavy duty manual spin and gear motor driven rotary tables, with thrust plate diameters from 18 to 36 inches (457mm to 915mm), handles loads from 2500 to 5000 lbs.

High-resolution optical encoders (available with millions of counts per revolution); direct drive brushless DC motors for AT series or gear driven motors for HDRT series (with a wide range of speed, torque and load sizing), digital amplifiers and programmable controllers; vacuum chucks. Choose standard base, foot or flange mount options.

ACCESSORIES

Precision adjustable tilt and center (tip/tilt) work tables up to 36 inches (900mm) in diameter for AT series and up to 72 inches (2 meters) for HDRT series; inspection-grade granite surface plates; gage stands; precision collet tooling, dual element filter/regulator (highly recommended).

ACCURACY CLASSES

  • A1 Accuracy Class: Radial/axial error motion to less than 1.0 micro-inch (0.025 microns); angular (coning) to less than 0.5 micro-inch/inch (0.012 microns/25mm)
  • A2 Accuracy Class: Radial/axial error motion to less than 2.0 micro-inches (0.05 microns); angular (coning) to less than 1.0 micro-inch/inch (0.025 microns/25mm)
  • A5 Accuracy Class: Radial/axial error motion to less than 5.0 micro-inches (0.125 microns); angular (coning) to less than 1.0 micro-inch/inch (0.025 microns/25mm)

ULTRA-PRECISION APPLICATIONS

The AT series is ideal for part and/or tool holding for runout and form measurements; machining, grinding, alignment and assembly applications; and precision indexing.

The HDRT series measures internal and outside diameter (ID and OD) and flange surface run out and is used to assemble large parts in the automotive, defense and aerospace industry.
