Rotary Motion
When you need a rotary axis with micro-inch (sub-micron) accuracy, smooth motion and the stiffness for higher load capacities, ABTech’s air bearing rotary tables, high-speed air bearing spindles and ball bearing rotary tables match your demands for precision performance.
Whether you’re searching for low or high speed, motorized or manual operation, single axis or stacked stage configurations, our rotary axes meet and exceed the requirements for:
- Precision metrology: ultra-precise roundness, squareness, concentricity, cylindricity, parallelism and similar measurements (motorized operation recommended); runout or T.I.R. inspection (manual operation recommended)
- Turbine engine component assembly, diamond turning, rotary grinding and cylindrical part staging
- Optical lens alignment staging, cylindrical part staging and machining operations
Every rotary air bearing stage is built with hardened stainless steel with no mechanical contact parts. You can depend on them for:
- Long life, requiring no maintenance or lubrication
- Thermal stability
- More durability than aluminum alternatives
- Vacuum-rated compatibility for semi-conductor applications
- Low consumption of compressed air or nitrogen
- Ability to be customized to meet the most challenging motion and geometry applications
As your expert in rotary motion, ABTech designs and manufactures the standard products you’re seeking for your ultra-precision applications, plus the ability to customize.
Our friction-free air bearing rotary tables come in manual and motorized versions; they have a clear thru-hole for cable access, vacuum feed or directing a laser light for lens axis alignment.
We designed our high-speed air bearing spindles for applications requiring a super-fine surface and/or precision speed control, with ultra-smooth, ultra-accurate motion up to or exceeding 10,000 RPM.
Our mechanical ball bearing rotary tables suit less demanding applications where a constant air supply is not available or more portability is desired.
Our tilt and center (tip/tilt) work tables are available from 6 to 24 inches (100mm to 600mm) in diameter, with four or eight knobs for precise positioning. A spherical seat tilt design keeps the center steady, eliminating the need for realignment.
