Oil Hydrostatic Linear Stages
Oil hydrostatic linear stages are 4 times stiffer than an air-bearing of equal size; these linear stages are ideal for the most demanding high-precision machine tool applications. If extreme stiffness and high load capacity are key to your application, ABTech will help you select the right oil hydrostatic stage. Our systems include the Hydrostatic Power Unit (HPU) which consists of a low-speed precision pump, pressure sensor for closed-loop operation, filtration system, and reserve tank.

Mechanical Linear Stages
When air-bearing level precision is not needed, a good alternative is mechanical bearing stages. These offer a high load capacity and stiffness with straightness accuracy to 40 µ” (1 micron) or less per inch of travel. They are ideal for low-speed measurements, inspection, precision assembly, or point-to-point positioning. ABTech has these available in a variety of sizes, travel, and motor drive options.
